• Welcome to the Joint Meeting AMS-UMI 2024

From July 23 to July 26, 2024, Università degli Studi di Palermo will host the 2nd Joint Meeting co-organized by the Unione Matematica Italiana (UMI) and the American Mathematical Society (AMS).

Located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, Palermo is the main seat of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Arab-Norman Palermo and the Cathedral Churches of Cefalù and Monreale. The city has always been famous for its history, art, music and food. The multicultural environment becomes already apparent through the different buildings and monuments downtown, as in the picture above (ph. Giuseppe Scaglione) where you can view rooftops and domes in the city skyline from the bell tower of Santa Chiara all’Albergaria in the Ballarò Market.

Università degli Studi di Palermo (UniPa) is a multidisciplinary university founded in 1806. Over the centuries, UniPa has become a consolidated international institution, with various curricula and diverse research areas, as well as numerous outreach activities addressing social issues and promoting inclusive cultural growth.

Looking forward to AMS-UMI 2024!
