Description:
This special session aims to foster ongoing dialogue and collaboration in mathematics education research between Italian and Brazilian researchers. The session welcomes contributions across diverse areas of mathematics education, including but not limited to theoretical frameworks, teaching methodologies, curriculum development, assessment practices, teacher education, and learner cognition, especially highlighting the connection with and the differences between the educational systems as well as intertwining different cultures. By bringing together researchers from both countries with varied perspectives and approaches, the session seeks to promote the exchange of ideas, encourage the development of new partnerships, and strengthen the research community in mathematics education across Italy and Brazil. All contributions will contribute to building bridges between the two research communities and advancing the field through international cooperation.
