Special Session 34
Recent progresses in stochastic fluid dynamics and turbulence
Organizers: Lorenzo Marino (SNS Pisa, Italy), Ciro Campolina (SNS Pisa, Italy)
MSC codes: 35R60, 76M35
Description:
This contributed session brings together early-career researchers working in stochastic fluid dynamics to present recent advances in the field. Using randomness to capture the turbulent nature of fluids is an exciting challenge, giving rise to a plethora of open problems that intrigue young mathematicians. Owing to the intrinsic complexity of these phenomena, progress cannot rely solely on rigorous theoretical analysis but must also involve increasingly sophisticated numerical simulations. In this context, the contributed talks will cover a broad spectrum of approaches and results, ranging from questions of well-posedness to the study of qualitative and dynamical properties of stochastic fluid models.
