Special Session 3
New challenges on Numerical methods for differential problems
Organizers: Pedro Silva Peixoto (Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil), Marco Verani (Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy)
MSC codes: 65-XX
Description: The increasing complexity of real-world phenomena continues to push the boundaries of mathematical modeling and numerical simulation. This special session brings together recent advances and emerging challenges in the development of numerical methods for differential problems, including ordinary and partial differential equations. Emphasis is placed on innovative discretization techniques, structure-preserving algorithms, as well as high-performance implementations tailored for modern computing architectures. By fostering discussion among researchers working on theoretical foundations, algorithmic design, and computational practice, this session aims to highlight current trends and identify open problems that will shape the next generation of numerical methods for differential equations.
