Description:

This session aims to explore a broad spectrum of topics within group theory, bridging the gap between fundamental structures and advanced contemporary research. Key focus areas include the study of finite groups and their interplay with associated graphs, as well as developments in geometric group theory, with particular emphasis on profinite groups and automorphism groups of trees. Furthermore, the session will highlight the interdisciplinary impact of the field by discussing practical applications in areas such as cryptography, underscoring the pivotal role of group-theoretic methods in both pure mathematics and applied sciences.
