CR geometry and Partial Differential Equations

Analysis on CR manifolds, with its unique geometric features, motivates and offers precious insight into the investigation of many interesting phenomena in partial differential equations: (non-)solvability of linear PDEs, subellipticity, global (non-)hypoellipticity,.. Among the mathematicians that nurtured this field of research, many belong or are closely connected to the Brazilian and/or the Italian mathematical community. Thus, the Joint meeting provides an excellent opportunity for what we expect to be a fruitful exchange of ideas, hopefully leading to new collaborations and breakthroughs. We plan to invite leading experts and younger researchers working at the interface of PDEs and CR geometry. The main focus of the session will be on the most recent developments and the many open problems they lead to.
