ERNESTO G. BIRGIN (University of São Paulo, Brazil)
Short Bio: Ernesto G. Birgin graduated in Computer Science at the University of Buenos Aires in 1995 and received his PhD in Applied Mathematics at the State University of Campinas in 1998. He is full professor at the University of São Paulo since 2015, where he has been working since 1999. His areas of interest include numerical optimization and operations research.

CELINA FIGUEIREDO (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
Short Bio: Celina Figueiredo has a B.Sc. (1982) and an M.Sc. (1984) in Mathematics from PUC-Rio, an M.Sc. (1987) in Mathematics from UMIST, and a D.Sc. (1991) in Computer Science from COPPE, UFRJ. Celina joined UFRJ in 1989, as assistant professor in the Computer
Science Department of the Mathematics Institute. She is now a full professor at the Systems Engineering and Computer Science Program of COPPE. She is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and of the World Academy of Sciences.
MASSIMO GIULIETTI (University of Perugia, Italy)
Short Bio: Massimo Giulietti is a mathematician specializing in geometry over finite fields, with interests spanning algebraic curves, finite geometry, and coding theory. He is a full professor at the University of Perugia, where he has held academic appointments since the early stages of his career. Over the years, he has also served in various teaching and research roles and has been actively involved in graduate education and academic service, including two terms as Head of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.

BEATRICE MEINI (University of Pisa, Italy)
Short Bio: Beatrice Meini is a Full Professor of Numerical Analysis, University of Pisa. She is Editor in Chief of the journal Linear and Multilinear Algebra and member of the Editorial Board of the journals “Linear Algebra and its Applications” and “SIAM J. Matrix Analysis Applications”. Her research mainly involves numerical linear algebra, with a focus on matrix functions, structured matrices, and the computational aspects arising in Markov chains and complex networks. She is co-author of two research books: Numerical Methods for Structured Markov Chains, Oxford University Press 2005, and Numerical Solution of Algebraic Riccati Equations, SIAM 2011.

CARLOS TOMEI (Brazil)
Short Bio: Tomei obtained his BSc and MSc from PUC-Rio (1975, 1977) and his PhD from the Courant Institute, NYU (1982). After a period as a Gibbs Instructor at Yale University (1982), he spent his career as a professor in PUC-Rio until 2025. He is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, a Comendador da Ordem do Mérito Científico, a Fellow of SIAM. He has been an active participant in the interaction between Brazilian and Italian mathematics.
