    ERNESTO G. BIRGIN <\/strong>(University of S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil)<\/p>\n

    Ernesto G. Birgin graduated in Computer Science at the University of Buenos Aires in 1995 and received his PhD in Applied Mathematics at the State University of Campinas in 1998. He is full professor at the University of S\u00e3o Paulo since 2015, where he has been working since 1999. His areas of interest include numerical optimization and operations research.<\/p>\n

    CELINA FIGUEIREDO <\/strong>(Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)<\/p>\n

    Celina Figueiredo has a B.Sc. (1982) and an M.Sc. (1984) in Mathematics from PUC-Rio, an M.Sc. (1987) in Mathematics from UMIST, and a D.Sc. (1991) in Computer Science from COPPE, UFRJ. Celina joined UFRJ in 1989, as assistant professor in the Computer
    Science Department of the Mathematics Institute. She is now a full professor at the Systems Engineering and Computer Science Program of COPPE. She is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and of the World Academy of Sciences.<\/p>\n

    MASSIMO GIULIETTI <\/strong>(University of Perugia, Italy)<\/p>\n

    Massimo Giulietti is a mathematician specializing in geometry over finite fields, with interests spanning algebraic curves, finite geometry, and coding theory. He is a full professor at the University of Perugia, where he has held academic appointments since the early stages of his career. Over the years, he has also served in various teaching and research roles and has been actively involved in graduate education and academic service, including two terms as Head of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.<\/p>\n

    HELENA JUDITH NUSSENZVEIG LOPES <\/strong>(Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)<\/p>\n

    Helena Judith Nussenzveig-Lopes obtained her PhD in 1991 from UC Berkeley under the supervision of R. DiPerna and L. C. Evans. Professor at State Univ. of Campinas from 1992 to 2012 and at Univ. Fed. Rio de Janeiro since. Specialist in Analysis, PDE and Mathematical Fluid Dynamics with over sixty papers published. Editor of several specialized journals, including SIAM Journal on Math. Analysis, Nonlinearity and Orbita Mathematicae. Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, of The World Academy of Sciences, fellow of AMS and SIAM. She was awarded the TWAS Award in Maths 2022 and she was an Invited Speaker at the 2018 ICM. She was chair of the SIAG-APDE 2015-2016 and she is the current President of CIMPA.

    BEATRICE MEINI <\/b>(University of Pisa, Italy)<\/p>\n

    Beatrice Meini is a Full Professor of Numerical Analysis, University of Pisa. She is Editor in Chief of the journal Linear and Multilinear Algebra and member of the Editorial Board of the journals “Linear Algebra and its Applications” and “SIAM J. Matrix Analysis Applications”. Her research mainly involves numerical linear algebra, with a focus on matrix functions, structured matrices, and the computational aspects arising in Markov chains and complex networks. She is co-author of two research books: Numerical Methods for Structured Markov Chains, Oxford University Press 2005, and Numerical Solution of Algebraic Riccati Equations, SIAM 2011.<\/p>\n

    PAOLO PICCIONE <\/strong>(University of S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil)<\/p>\n

    Paolo Piccione obtained his bachelor’s degree at the University La Sapienza, Rome, and his Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University. President of the Brazilian Mathematical Society from 2017 to 2023. Currently professor at the Universidade de S\u00e3o Paulo (Brazil), and Distinguished Visting Professor at Great Bay University, China.

    ANGELA PISTOIA <\/b>(Sapienza University of Rome, Italy)<\/p>\n

    CARLOS TOMEI <\/strong>(Brazil)<\/p>\n

    Tomei obtained his BSc and MSc from PUC-Rio (1975, 1977) and his PhD from the Courant Institute, NYU (1982). After a period as a Gibbs Instructor at Yale University (1982), he spent his career as a professor in PUC-Rio until 2025. He is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, a Comendador da Ordem do M\u00e9rito Cient\u00edfico, a Fellow of SIAM. He has been an active participant in the interaction between Brazilian and Italian mathematics.<\/p>\n
