K-State EpiCenter, an interdisciplinary center focusing on computational
epidemiology at Kansas State University, Manhattan - Kansas, invites
applications for a Post Doctoral position affiliated with the department
of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
The successful candidate will work on a project aiming at developing
mathematical models and software tools for simulation of epidemic in rural
regions at different scales and for dynamic environmental inputs. The
project goal is to design efficient, realistic simulations for prediction
and mitigation of infectious diseases transmissible among humans and
animals.
Applicants should possess a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics
Engineering, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, System
Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related areas, and have experience
in computing programming (e.g. C/C++, Java etc). Proven ability to work
independently and experience in numerical simulation methods and complex
networks theory are considered to be important assets for this position.
High motivation, ability to quickly adapt to a new environment, excellent
written English, and good personal and communication skills are required
for this position.
The position is available starting immediately and the duration is one
