Aims and Scope
The Bollettino dell'UMI is the scientific journal of the Unione Matematica Italiana (UMI). The UMI, founded in 1922 in Bologna by S. Pincherle, works at promoting and disseminating current advances in mathematics and its applications.
The IX series of BUMI will start from 2008 and will publish research articles in all active areas of Mathematics.
Papers to be published in the Bollettino dell'U.M.I. should be submitted, in three paper copies, to
Redazione del Bollettino U.M.I.
Dipartimento di Matematica
Piazza Porta S. Donato 5
I- 40126 Bologna.
The Board of the Bollettino dell'U.M.I. will inform the Authors about the reception of the manuscript and later on, after the usual refereeing procedure, about the acceptance or rejection of the paper.
Manuscripts should be electronically-prepared in Plain-TEX, AMS-TEX or LATEX typed double spaced on one side of the paper with generous margin all round; authors should keep a copy of the manuscript.
Authors should provide full postal address to which correspondence must be sent.
Exact and complete references should be given (author(s), journal, series, volume, year, pages). Abbreviations according to the scheme of Math. Reviews should be used. Ordering (by Arabic numerals) should be alphabetical.
Electronic manuscripts should be sent only after the paper has been accepted for publication.
Electronic-prepared manuscript files should be sent via e-mail to the address: buminapoli@dma.unina.it
If the file will not be sent the paper will not be published.
The Board of the Bollettino dell'U.M.I. encourages the Authors to use, in the preparation of their manuscripts, the style sheet.
Using the style sheet saves the Author's proofreading time and moves more quickly through the production process.
Proofs should be quickly corrected and promptly returned to
Tipografia Monograf
Via Collamarini 5/L
I-40138 Bologna.
Modifications of the text should be avoided; excessive typographical changes may be billed to the author.
Authors will receive 50 free reprints without cover. Additional reprints (or covers) may be ordered at the time of returning the proofs; payments should be done to
Tipografia Monograf
Via Collamarini 5/L
I-40138 Bologna.
Research Announcements
The Bollettino dell'U.M.I. publishes, in a separated section at the end of each issue, Research Announcements of the maximum length of 6 printed pages.
The announcements should be sent in one paper copy to Redazione and eventually to a member of th Board, together with the complete paper even if in a draft form.
If the note is accepted for the publication, the announcement will be published in the first possible issue of the B.U.M.I. For the announcements holds the other information for authors written above.
Authors of accepted papers are asked to sent the copyright transfer agreement (the Italian version) filled and signed before by fax to 0039 051 4214169 and then by ordinary mail to:
